Home secretary Yvette Cooper laid a floral tribute at the scene of the horrendous knife attack in Southport - alongside local MP, Patrick Hurley.

The home secretary has already met with the chief constable, police and crime commissioner and the mayor.

Ms Cooper also spoke with some of the first responders who attended the scene yesterday.
