Marcos ban on POGOs draws cheers, warning at SONA
The audience at the Batasang Pambansa session hall cheer President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. after he declares a total ban on the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) during his State of the Nation Address on July 22, 2024. Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda, chairman of the ways and means committee of the House of Representatives, said however that the ban was an 'executive discretion' and warned that the country could lose money. Former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo answers questions from the media on the issue.
