Euro Zone Inflation Eases to 2.5% in June, Meeting Market Forecasts

Headline inflation in the euro zone dipped to 2.5% in June 2024, in line with analyst expectations. Core inflation, excluding volatile effects of energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, stayed at 2.9% in June, narrowly missing forecasts. Inflation in services also held steady at 4.1% in June. The euro weakened slightly after the data on expectations the ECB will continue cutting rates.
