A 24-kilometer cross-sea expressway linking the cities of Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Guangzhou, known as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, is opening for a pilot with public traffic.

It comprises bridges, underwater tunnels and artificial islands, which will shorten travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan from 2 hours to half an hour.
