Julian Assange was released from a British prison and boarded a plane to a remote Pacific island where he will plead guilty to a U.S. conspiracy charge as part of a plea deal. The deal will see Assange plead guilty to conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information in exchange for being freed and avoiding further legal battles. Assange is expected to appear in court in the Northern Mariana Islands on Wednesday to enter his guilty plea, after which he will likely be sentenced to time served and allowed to return to Australia.
