The charity Crimestoppers is appealing to the public to get in touch anonymously if they know the whereabouts of Dolars Aleksanders who is wanted over a fatal hit-and-run collision.

He is a prime suspect after 12-year-old Keaton Slater was killed after being hit by a car in Radford Road in Coventry at around 4.30pm on Friday, June 14. The vehicle then made off.

Crimestoppers - a charity that is independent of the police - is supporting the investigation by offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information the charity exclusively receives that leads to the arrest of 21-year-old Aleksanders. The reward is available for three months and is due to expire on September 20, 2024.

West Midlands Police advice is not to approach Aleksanders, but to contact the police or the charity Crimestoppers if you wish to stay anonymous.

It comes as Keaton's heartbroken family issued footage of the youngster opening a birthday present - a new iPhone he received on his 11th birthday in January last year

Alan Edwards, regional manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “A young boy has tragically lost his life and has left a devastating impact on so many people, especially Keaton's family and friends.

“Our charity is supporting the police as they hunt for Aleksanders by offering a reward. We are reminding everyone – especially those who may be intimidated into silence – that they have the option to stay completely anonymous when contacting us.

“If you know where Aleksanders is and you contact Crimestoppers directly, you could be entitled to a reward of up to £10,000.

“Our charity is here for you if you do not want to speak to the authorities directly and prefer not to give your personal details. Crimestoppers is independent of the police and guarantees you stay completely anonymous.

“Crimestoppers is open 24/7, 365 days a year, both online and on the phone. Nobody will ever know that you contacted us and you will be doing the right thing.”
