The Middlesex County Volunteer Fifes and Drums were formed following America's bicentennial celebration with it's first appearance in 1982 and today is recognised as one of the world's finest fife and drum corps.

Their classic American sound has entertained audiences from Boston to Versailles, Williamsburg to Salzburg and Edinburgh and beyond.

The band features a unique composition of folk and classically trained musicians who collaborate in performance and recordings with various emsembles including the Boston Camerata, the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra and Chorus, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.

The band were the feature ensemble to attend the Basel Tattoo in 2005 and were the very first fifes and drums to appear at the Edinburgh Tattoo. Their uniforms on parade are authenticate dress reproductions of the New England regiments of the Continental Army from 1779.
