The federal Opposition has confirmed it would dump Australia’s 2030 emissions reduction target if elected. It argues the target can't possibly be reached and says it would scrap it while pursuing an energy policy more reliant on gas and nuclear power. Shadow Communications Minister David Coleman spoke with David Speers on Insiders, saying the coalition will release information about its targets closer to the election.
