Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon has been ordered to report to prison by July 1 to serve a 4-month sentence for contempt of Congress. A jury found Bannon guilty in 2022 for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House committee investigating the January 6th Capitol attack. Bannon had claimed executive privilege and said his lawyer advised him not to cooperate, but the judge did not allow that defense. Bannon appealed the conviction, but it was upheld by an appeals court, which said the "advice of counsel" defense was invalid.
