The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heatwave conditions on May 15 for Mumbai. On May 14, the weather department also stated that light rainfall and thundershowers are possible in the next 48 hours. This weather report by IMD came a day after Mumbai witnessed a dust storm and heavy unseasonal rains. The change in climate on May 13 brought much needed relief from the soaring heat in Mumbai, Thane, and its neighbouring area. This sudden change in climate also led to destruction as an illegal hoarding collapsed in Ghatkopar. The tragedy claimed 14 lives and left 74 people injured. Watch the video to know more.
