Due to the heavy rains that occurred in the last few days in Rio Grande do Sul, it was necessary to open the gates of the Engenheiro José Maia Filho Dam in Salto do Jacuí. On Thursday morning (07/09/23), nine of the 17 floodgates were open. The Jacuí River is around 800 km long, originates in Passo Fundo and flows into Guaíba.
