Peter Smith, 64, a British national, was attacked by what appear to be a bull shark, while swimming along Turtle Beach Tobago, at around 9:15 am on Friday.

This happened ten meters away from shore, in full view of fellow swimmers who made a frantic dash from the water to safety. The emergency services were immediately contacted, and subsequent to the visitor being pulled out of the water, he was promptly transported to the Scarborough General Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
