A military transport plane crashed in central Russia soon after takeoff.
At least 15 people, including eight crew members, died, confirmed Russia’s Defense Ministry.
The incident took place 250 kilometers east of Moscow, close to a military airfield near the city of Ivanovo.

Local authorities report that no one on the ground was injured as the pilot managed to divert the plane to a forest away from a village.

Videos circulating on Russian social media appeared to capture the moment when one of the aircraft’s engines is believed to have detached during the flight.
