A mum loves styling her young boys in “traditional outfits” and says trolls who mistake them for girls just "don't understand fashion".
Ebony Jones, 27, has always loved dressing her three sons – aged three, five and seven – in “old fashioned” clothes.
She loves Peter Pan collars, knee high socks and cardigans – and estimates she has spent at around £3,000 on 100 outfits over the years.
And she claims trolls tell her it looks like she "wished" she had a girl and they say her boys will get “bullied”.
But Ebony, a receptionist from York, loves that they look “smart”.
She said: “It’s nice to take pride in what they are wearing. I’ve always bought traditional style clothing.
“I like them to look smart.
“I get a majority of negative comments – people say ‘I bet you wished you had a girl’ or ‘he’s going to get bullied’. They don’t bother me.
“People do mistaken him [Ebony’s youngest son] for a girl. It doesn’t bother me, I just correct them.
“They don’t understand fashion and that’s fine, not everyone does.”
Ebony and her partner, 30, say the negative comments don’t bother them and they find the older generation more appreciative.
She said: “I get comments saying he should be getting muddy. He does still get muddy.
“Older people – they comment that they look smart.”
The mum-of-three finds the clothes at online sites such as Childrensalon and Rachel Riley UK.
Ebony said: “I shop at a lot of the same shops that the Royal family go to.
“People say I’m trying to be something I’m not.”
When the boys hit the age of three, Ebony will usually change up their style and will find clothes that are in fashion and they feel comfortable in.
She said: “They get to an age where they don’t want to be dressed ‘babyish’ or in too fancy clothes.
“At the moment they are into cargos and dunks.”
Ebony is now starting to go through the process of changing over the wardrobe for her three-year-old son.
But she wants to encourage other parents to dress their children how they want to - and ignore any haters.
She said: "If they like it, they should do it."
