Provincial disaster agencies have reported a grim toll, with 13 casualties in Davao de Oro province, two individuals still missing, and seven fatalities in the neighbouring Davao del Norte. The relentless rains, driven by a combination of a northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area, pounded the southern Mindanao region from January 28 to February 2, triggering deadly floods and landslides.
