Wales headlines 2 February: Public could be consulted on 20mph changes

Residents in one local authority in Wales could be consulted on which roads are changed back from 20 to 30 miles per hour. Members of the public attended a council meeting, with a Tory councillor presenting a petition arguing for people in the area to be in discussion over what roads are changed.

A preacher from Carmarthen has been fined over two thousand pounds for his part in a protest outside an abolition clinic in February 2023. 72 year old Stephen Green was found to have broken a public spaces protection order, banning protests in the area. His lawyer has said he will be appealing his conviction.

A dolphin has died on a beach in north Wales after becoming stranded, along with 5 others who managed to survive. The common dolphins were found on a beach in Anglesey on Wednesday, after a low tide. Dolphins can survive outside water for up to 12 hours, but die due to the weight of their bodies on their organs.
