Deep Sea Vision, which operates autonomous underwater vehicles, believes it may have found Amelia Earhart's missing plane using marine robots equipped with sonar imaging. Confirming it's her plane remains challenging due to the immense size of the Pacific Ocean search area. The plane would be very small compared to the ocean floor that needs to be surveyed. Depth also makes visual confirmation difficult, with sonar needed to see through the "darkness". If confirmed, further equipment would be needed to examine the wreckage up close.
