"The Greatest Little Soul Band in The Land" was the first UK-recorded album by American aoul/R & B singer, songwriter and arranger J.J. Jackson from the Bronx, New York City. The album is notable as featuring some of the same British musicians who had backed Jackson on his 1966 hit, "But it's alright", including Dick Morrissey and Terry Smith, and was recorded contemporaneous to Jackson becoming a permanent resident of England. The labum was Jackson's attempt tu fuse soul music and jazz music, with deep funky ourings, and big band inspired horn arrangements,, and some progressive moves as well.
