Michelle Obama, born on January 17, 1964, is an American attorney, author, and advocate. She served as the First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017 during the two terms of her husband, Barack Obama, the 44th President. Prior to her role as First Lady, Michelle Obama established herself as a lawyer and public servant.
Born as Michelle LaVaughn Robinson in Chicago, she graduated from Princeton University and then earned her law degree from Harvard Law School. She began her legal career at the Chicago law firm Sidley Austin, where she met Barack Obama. Their marriage in 1992 marked the beginning of a dynamic and influential partnership.
