The KNA Rally Solør VTØ was stopped after an accident involving the red BMW M3 of driver Jan Egil Halland and co-driver Remi Gudmundsen in its first special stage when the car went off the road, crashed into a rock and rolled over. Gudmunsen died at the scene of the accident, and Halland was seriously injured.

Remi Gudmundsen participated in rallies since 2000. He scored two class wins in 2004 - at Rally Sørland and Flesbergrally Sommer.
