Napoleon's worn hat sells for $2.1 million at auction
Napoleon Bonaparte's worn bicorne hat, with faded and cracked felt, fetched $2.1 million at an auction of the French emperor's belongings. Initially valued at $650,000-$870,000, the hat, one of few still existing from Napoleon's rule, became the highlight of the Fontainebleau auction. Jean Pierre Osenat, president of the Osenat auction house, announced the winning bid.
