Sylvain Rémy's fatal accident occurred at 09h30 on Saturday 23 June 2007 during the fifth special stage of the Rallye de Lorraine. He lost control of his Peugeot 206 XS under pouring rain and crashed into a tree on driver's side. His co-driver Aline Vinel was unhurt.
