For more than a year the Barkly Regional Council in the Northern Territory has been plagued by allegations of misconduct. Last month the territory Government took the drastic step of suspending all elected representatives and appointing an official manager. An independent investigation into its service delivery and fiscal management is now underway. A young woman has alleged she was sexually harassed while working at the Barkly Regional Council and serious concerns have been uncovered about its management of her case.
