The US International Trade Commission has issued a limited exclusion order banning certain Apple Watch models from being imported into the US. Apple was found to have violated Masimo's patents by illegally copying its light-based biomarker measurement technology for the Apple Watch instead of properly licensing it. Apple denies this and says it respects intellectual property. The import ban applies to Apple Watch models except the SE. It could remove an estimated $14-18 billion per year in Apple Watch revenue if upheld over the holidays. This order will take effect on December 26th, unless reversed by President Biden.
