UN Assembly urges 'humanitarian truce' in Gaza
The UN General Assembly passes a nonbinding resolution, with 120 countries in favor, 14 against, and 45 abstentions, calling for a ‘humanitarian truce’ in Gaza and an end to hostilities between Israel and Hamas. This marks the first United Nations response to the ongoing conflict. The resolution did not mention Hamas but instead focused on a humanitarian ceasefire.
