At least 10 people have been killed, including two children, after the roof of the Santa Cruz church in northern Mexico collapsed during Mass on Sunday. There were thought to be around 100 people inside the church when the roof caved in, sending bricks, concrete, and steel onto parishioners in the pews. Local people have worked tirelessly to rescue those trapped beneath the rubble, and their efforts have been praised by Bishop José Armando Alvarez of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tampico.
