Birmingham headlines 27 September: LeSean Williams from Handsworth jailed after pleading guilty to manslaughter
A man from Handsworth has been jailed for the manslaughter of a resident on his street last year. LeSean Williams pleaded guilty for causing the death of Andrew Gardner. He was sentenced to three years in prison on Monday.

Firearms officers surrounded a property in Sparkbrook amid a siege lasting 20 hours. A man barricaded himself inside after police responded to reports of a 'disorder with weapons'. The siege concluded around 2am on Wednesday. A 31 year old man was detained by police.

A fine dining establishment is set to open it's doors in the former Barclays Bank building on Colmore Row. The Pasture Restaurant Group chose the site for its Birmingham branch. The owners says the restaurant will be a celebration of fire-based cooking and 'incredible local ingredients'.
