The European Union (EU) has initiated an investigation into potential unfair subsidies within the electric vehicle (EV) industry, raising concerns for Tesla and European car manufacturers exporting EVs from China to the EU. EU Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis announced that there is sufficient initial evidence to warrant this inquiry into battery-powered vehicle imports from China, as the EU fears that such subsidies may disrupt the bloc's own car industry.
