Japan PM pushes for global nuclear disarmament at UN
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida promises to revive global nuclear disarmament efforts by urging nuclear-armed countries to talk with non-nuclear countries. He suggested reinitiating talks about the 1993 Fissile Material Cutoff Treaty (FMCT), which hasn't been discussed at the United Nations yet but held high-level discussions with Australia and the Philippines to garner support from global south nations.
