The controversy sparked by Udhayanidhi Stalin's comments about Sanatan Dharma appears to be ongoing, with the BJP Tamil Nadu chief, K Annamalai, launching a scathing attack on the DMK. Annamalai released a video in which he likened the DMK to diseases like dengue, malaria, and mosquitoes, suggesting that they need to be eliminated.
Announcing his statement on social media, Annamalai stated that DMK could stand for ""Dengue, Malaria, Kosu"" (mosquito), and he believes that these diseases should be associated with the DMK. He further criticized the DMK for its controversial remarks against Sanatan Dharma.
Adding fuel to the fire, another DMK minister, A Raja, made contentious comments by comparing Sanatana Dharma to diseases with social stigmas, such as HIV and leprosy.
Finally, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi's father, addressed the issue by stating that Udhayanidhi expressed his views on Sanatan principles that discriminate against Scheduled Castes, Tribals, and Women, without any intention to offend any religion or religious beliefs. He accused pro-BJP groups of spreading false narratives and alleging that Udhayanidhi advocated for the genocide of people with Sanatan thoughts.
