ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನೀತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಗತ್ಯ. ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಹೊಂದಿರಬೇಕು. ಉಚಿತ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಲಾಭ ತರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೇ ಉಚಿತ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.Fiscal discipline is the most essential of government policies.
