Today, I am going to present to you a case on which the whole Gujarat is ashamed. I don’t know if the Prime Minister feels ashamed about this. This is a case of corruption for the people of Gujarat, the same people of Gujarat, which brought the BJP to power. This is a case of corruption, loot and dacoity. And this is done by none-other than the best friend of PM Narendra Modi, Mr. Gautam Adani. When PM Modi was the CM of Gujarat in the year 2007, there was an agreement with Mr. Adani. The agreement said that Mr. Adani will provide electricity to the people of Gujarat at the cost of 2.25 rupees per unit for the next 25 years. This was also called the Power Purchase Agreement. But in 2018, Mr. Adani signs another agreement with the Gujarat Govt. which says that since the price of coal has increased, the Gujarat Govt. will have to pay more for the electricity. The Gujarat Govt. agreed to this agreement. But there were some clauses. There is a company called Argus Global. This company tells us the cost of coal in the respective countries around the world. The question arises that India is already a surplus coal producing country. Why does Mr. Adani need to buy coal from outside? There was a clause in the agreement that said that the payments will be made according to the rates decided by Argus Global. The Gujarat Govt. accepted the agreements and the payments began happening acc. to that clause. ₹ 3,802 Crore was paid by the Gujarat Govt. to Mr. Adani. But after the Hindenburg report, on 15th May, the Gujarat Govt. wrote to Mr. Adani that said that there are no documents and bills given from your side. And the time when you purchased coal from Indonesia, the price there was very low. ₹3802 crore is being excessively charged. Where are the investigation agencies sleeping? Other-wise they are all around the country putting ministers behind bars.
