'Newsweek' reports that of the approximately
5,000 residents displaced by the fire, a small
number are now returning home.
According to the Washington State Department
of Natural Resources, the fire has impacted
an area around Medical Lake and Four Lakes.
'Newsweek' reports that the fire
continues to burn in that area, located
about 20 miles southwest of Spokane.
The Northwest Interagency Coordination Center and Washington Department of Natural Resources said that the fire had been 25% contained by August 22. .
'The Seattle Times' reported that
over 185 structures, including homes,
were destroyed in the fire. .
According to the outlet, at least one
body has been recovered in the area.
'Newsweek' reports that 565 firefighting personnel
are currently working to contain the blaze.
Firefighters are making good progress mopping up the edges of the fire, connecting pieces of containment lines and confirming previously created dozer lines, Washington Department of Natural Resources, via statement.
Within the interior of the fire, firefighters are
