Stepping Stones

In recent months, Europe has had more summits than a Tibetan Sherpa, but these summits have provided stepping stones over the recessionary river. Now we need the Council to show the courage to cross it. Every party and every institution must pull together to keep this recession as short and shallow as possible. As President of the European Parliament, I would do everything possible to ensure that the citizens' elected representatives are able to contribute to that great task.
