Typhoon Doksuri swept into southern China’s Fujian province on Friday (July 28), destroying buildings, crippling infrastructure and bringing life to a standstill.

The typhoon is the most powerful to make landfall in China this year and second-strongest to hit Fujian psince Typhoon Meranti in 2016.
