Scores of fishermen across Cedros are today reeling from tens of thousands of dollars in losses, after being hit by an oil spill at sea.

They began seeing large amounts of a thick, black, tar-like substance on Thursday afternoon, and by Friday morning, dozens of boats were hit.

Our reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh was in Cedros on Friday where fishermen pleaded for compensation, by early afternoon they said Heritage officials were yet to visit or communicate with those impacted.
