After North Korea’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) last week, South Korea, the US and Japan staged a trilateral missile defence exercise in the international waters of the East Sea on Sunday, Seoul’s Navy said. The exercise was a show of strengthened trilateral military cooperation against North Korea's escalating nuclear threats.
