BBC director-general Tim Davie will be questioned in Parliament about the broadcaster’s leadership following the Huw Edwards furore. On Wednesday evening, Edwards’ wife Vicky Flind released a statement revealing her husband was the BBC presenter at the centre of allegations over payments for sexually explicit images. The story, first reported in The Sun newspaper last week, referred only to an unnamed male BBC presenter. The 61-year-old news anchor is suffering from severe mental health issues and currently receiving in-patient hospital care. The Metropolitan Police said on Wednesday that no criminal offence had been committed by the presenter. The BBC is to continue its internal investigation into the allegations made against Edwards.
