Russian governors of Kursk and Belgorod regions claim that the areas came under attack from Ukrainian forces on July 5. Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said at least one woman was injured due to the attack, suffering shrapnel wounds to her chest. Gladkov said that Russian defence forces shot down three air objects, including one drone. Roman Starovoyt, the governor of the Kursk region, claimed that the village of Tyotkino came under attack. Meanwhile, a Chechen official said that West could be behind the attack on Journalist Yelena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov. Milashina and Nemov were beaten up by a group of masked men in the Russian republic of Chechnya on July 4. Russian President Vladimir Putin fled Moscow during Wagner group’s mutiny, according to Newsweek. Self-exiled former oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky claimed he was monitoring Putin’s movements during the mutiny on June 24. Khodorkovsky said he learned that Putin left Moscow by plane during the failed coup. British Royal Air Force Typhoons took to the air on the evening of 4 July to intercept Russian aircraft in Estonia.
