Manipur saw an eruption of fresh violence on Thursday evening. Police fired tear gas shells to disperse a mob. They gathered after the death of another person in Kangpokpi. Tension escalated in Imphal as the remains of the deceased were brought to the state capital. Protesters came out on the streets, defying curfew orders and demanding justice.
