A two-minute audio recording obtained by CNN appears to indicate that former President Donald Trump knowingly kept documents that weren't declassified. .
Trump can be heard saying, "these are the papers," as well as, "highly confidential.".

Trump goes on to tout his "big pile of paper," saying, "Isn't it amazing?... They presented
me this, this is off the record.".
The conversation was reportedly
recorded during a meeting at Trump's
golf club in New Jersey in July 2021.
CNN has referred to the recording
as crucial evidence in Jack Smith's
indictment of the former president. .
Earlier this month, Trump pleaded not guilty to
37 charges pertaining to obstruction of justice and illegally keeping national security secrets. .
