A timely boost for the Gilas Pilipinas women's team for their next assignment this month.
Filipino-American Vanessa de Jesus will play for the women's national team in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup. The Philippines will open its campaign against host country Australia on June 26th. De Jesus currently plays for Duke University in the US NCAA.
She is expected to reinforce Gilas women - bannered by standouts Jack Animam, Afril Bernardino, and Ella Fajardo.
