RIYADH: Astronomers have told when the Zil Hajj moon is likely to be seen in most of the Muslim countries of the world. In a statement issued by the International Astronomical Center, it has been said that there is a possibility of seeing the moon in countries where Sunday, June 18, is 29th of Dhul-Qaad. In these countries, 1st Dhul-Hajj may be on Monday, June 19 and Eid-ul-Adha on Wednesday, June 28. In Pakistan, June 18 will be the 28th of Zul-Qaad and the meeting of the Sawit Hilal Committee will be held on Monday, June 19, i.e., on the 29th of Zul-Qaad.
1st Dhul Hajj in Pakistan is expected on Tuesday 20th June or Wednesday 21st June. Thus, Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan is likely to happen on Thursday, June 29 or Friday, June 30.
According to the International Center of Astronomy, in most Muslim countries, an attempt will be made to see the moon of Zil-Hajj on 29th Dhul-Qaad i.e. 18th June. In the western and central regions of the Islamic world, the moon will be difficult to see even through this historical Koteli scope. The World Astronomy Center further says that the moon will not be seen in any way in the eastern regions of the Islamic world on Sunday, June 18. The moon will set 7 minutes after sunset in Jakarta, at which time it will have been 6 hours and 5 minutes since its birth. The moon will set 29 minutes after sunset in Abu Dhabi and at that time the moon will be 12 hours and 4 minutes old. The moon will set 31 minutes after sunset in Riyadh, at which time it will be 13 hours old. In Oman and Occupied Jerusalem, the moon will disappear from sight 37 minutes after sunset, at which time it will be 14 hours old.
