Poll Shows Rising , Social Conservatism , Among Americans .
The latest Gallup poll shows that a growing
number of people in the United States identify
themselves as being socially conservative.
'Forbes' reports that the poll found that 38% of
Americans said they identify as "conservative" or
"very conservative" when it comes to social issues.
Meanwhile, just 29% of those polled
said they had "liberal" or
"very liberal" social views. .
In 2022, the same poll found that the difference between
liberals and conservatives was just one percent, with
34% saying they were liberal and 33% conservative. .
'Forbes' reports that the biggest change was among
Republicans who grew more socially conservative.
Since 2021, the 60% of Republicans who
identified as socially conservative grew 14%
to reach 74% in the most recent poll.
The latest poll also found that people in the U.S.
continued to identify as more fiscally conservative,
reaching 44%, the highest percentage since 2012. .
