The World Bank has recently released its Global Economic Prospects report. It has raised its 2023 global growth forecast as the US and other major economies have proven more resilient than its earlier forecast. As far as India is concerned, although the report maintains that India will remain the fastest-growing economy, it has still trimmed India's GDP growth forecast to 6.3% in FY24 from 6.6% forecast in January 2023. So..why did the World Bank trim India’s GDP growth prediction even though it asserts India to be the fastest-growing economy. A permutation and combination of few factors may hold the answer for this.
