Nevada Enacts , New Laws to Protect , Election Workers.
On May 30, Nevada signed into law new legislation that
would see anyone who harasses, intimidates or uses force
against election workers face up to four years in prison.

NBC reports that the new law is
aimed at deterring attacks against
state and local election offices. .
According to Democratic Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar,
threats and intimidation against election workers
across the country have increased significantly.
Aguilar attributed the increase to falsehoods and
conspiracy theories revolving around former
President Donald Trump's 2020 White House bid.
NBC reports that similar measures have been put
in place to protect election workers in Maine,
New Mexico, Oklahoma, Vermont and Washington.
The new Nevada law includes making the
dissemination of an election worker's personal
information without consent a felony offense. .

NBC reports that more than half of Nevada's top election officials have stepped down between the 2020 election and the midterms in 2022.
Over the same period of time, the state also saw
