The Prime Minister says that in light of the recent ruling by the Privy Council, the Government is duty-bound to call the Local Government Election.

But instead of calling the date for that election today, the Prime Minister told the Parliament that there must first be the passage of a bill "to validate all acts of the corporations from December 2022, up to the 18th of May 2023 and for the further three (3) month period from 18th May."
