The New South Wales police officer accused of tasering 95-year-old aged care resident Clare Nowland has been charged. Senior Constable Kristian white is facing three charges including 'recklessly causing grievous bodily harm'. Police were called to a nursing home in Cooma in the early morning last Wednesday. Mrs Nowland was holding a steak knife and a walking frame when the officer discharged his stun gun. The great-grandmother was taken to hospital after she fell and fractured her skull. She's spent the past week in a critical condition. The New South Wales police force has come under intense scrutiny following the incident. Senior constable white has been suspended from duty with full pay. The 33-year-old will appear at Cooma local court in July.
