Sameer Wankhede, former anti-narcotics officer, has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Wankhede has been asked to appear at the agency’s Mumbai office on May 18. Wankhede, who headed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai zone, had arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in 2021 in an alleged drugs case. Sameer Wankhede has approached the Delhi High Court with a request to stop the summons, reported NDTV. The court granted him interim protection from arrest. Sameer Wankhede and others had allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore bribe from Shah Rukh Khan for not framing Aryan Khan in the alleged drugs case. Aryan Khan had spent nearly four weeks in jail.
