Martin Lewis has explained how ‘three million’ Britons are missing out on over £1,000 in council tax support.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (17 May), the MoneySavingExpert founder revealed that those on means-tested benefits such as universal credit could be owed money.

Mr Lewis went on to explain that those wishing to apply for the council tax support must do so separately from how they apply for other benefits.

“This one is a big one,” he said.
